Raise empowered children
who are connected to their
 inner resources.

mindfulness & meditation for children & their families.

Hi, I'm Zoe Wood

I am a certified breathwork & meditation guide,
& qualified children's mindfulness coach.

I have learnt from working with young people for more than ten years, including as an early years educator.

You are not alone

I believe the way you approach life depends on how you feel inside.
Meditation, mindfulness, & breathwork are all ways

to take care of your inner world.

Healing means to recover a feeling of wholeness. When you feel whole, you feel safe to take risks, explore, and

live a fully expressed life

"My 6 year old had so much fun with Zoe, she leant lots of new techniques on how to relax. We danced, moved, played games, and laughed a lot-the best way to get a young child engaged!

I asked Bluebell what she thought, she replied 'amazing'.
Thank you Zoe."
-Sarah

How?

the breath is a way to access the parasympathetic nervous system,
a state where you feel safe and calm.

connection & presence are the result of a

regulated nervous system

something that can be increasingly difficult to maintain in our non-stop way of living.

through movement, breath, awareness, and somatic tools, I give you way to redress the imbalance that is caused by the stresses of modern life.

for children, who are masters at how to be present, this involves age-appropriate exercises for emotional balance, and an introduction to mindfulness through play, so that they can grow up trusting their bodies, and shining as their authentic selves.

benefits during early years

in early years, these
practices can help children with:
-navigating tantrums

-smoother routines, such as bedtime & mealtimes

-developing independence

-friendships, learning assertiveness & empathy

-expression & confidence

Mindfulness in families starts with care for the caregivers....

“I have found my perfect meditation guide with Zoe…with her angelic, soft voice she delivers the most powerful messages. I remember a few sessions when all of us burst into tears at the end, feeling liberated. This is her natural talent that speaks to and heals the soul.”

- Ana-Maria, Mother & Montessori Teacher.

Nothing activates the nervous system quite like being responsible for the life of another human...

When your body is on high alert, in a sympathetic nervous system stress response, you (and your child) are less able to access the parts of your brain responsible for more complex reasoning, memory, and problem solving. This is why it is so easy when a child is screaming to fall back on a reactive way of parenting (and why children rarely listen to you mid-tantrum!). When the stress response is active, you might find yourself shutting down and avoiding, or pushing back in ways that don’t feel good, and ultimately don’t work for you or your child.

Regularly giving yourself permission to take a breather is a great way to develop peace of mind for yourself, and to start teaching mindfulness to children, because...

..children learn much more from watching what adults do, than from what they are told to do, especially at a young age.

Interrupting the cycle of stress creates more time in your day, as things are able to flow more easily when you are grounded and calm. Aiming for a perfect day of peace only creates more pressure- that is not the goal! But you can develop tools that really work on days where things feel overwhelming. In a centered state, you do not need to be looking outside yourself as often for parenting tips and tricks, because...

..you are more connected to your calm inner voice, the part of you that knows how to handle a difficult situation.

The more resourced you feel as a caregiver, the easier it becomes
to connect with children in your life.

Let's have a chat...

Before working together I invite you to have an informal 15 minute chat, (a long-distance cup of tea if you will!) with one or more caregiver to hear what is coming up for you.

This is a chance for you to get to know me a bit better, and to ask any questions about the way I work.
